1775 Map of the Middle British Colonies
Description:
In 1755, surveyor Lewis Evans produced a map of the British colonies in America which was printed by Benjamin Franklin. It was one of the earliest to detail the Ohio country. That map was then issued in at least 10 different editions. This edition, published in London on the eve of the American Revolution, shows the location of American Indian settlements and of natural resources such as coal and limestone, and describes the navigability of rivers.
