Allow students, in groups or individually, to examine the primary source linked under Resources to the right, while answering the questions below in order. The questions are designed to guide students into a deeper analysis of the source and sharpen associated cognitive skills.
Level I: Description
1. Describe the people in this photo.

Level II: Interpretation
1. What year do you think this photograph was taken? What clues are given that support your answer?
Level III: Analysis
1. Describe the parallel to day's time through comparing an activity we participate in at the present time. Use a Venn diagram to show the similarities and differences between the two.
2. Contrast the purpose behind a group's assembly in this time and or our time. Discuss what may have been the importance of a group like this in the past. Discuss the benefits of belonging to a group like this.
