CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

Lesson Plans
Lesson plans provide a complete and comprehensive classroom experience based on the Ohio Social Studies Academic Content Standards. Each lesson has been developed through the History in the Heartland and History WORKS programs by participating teachers and has been tested in the classroom and revised accordingly. In addition, lessons integrate a variety of primary sources that can be used in classrooms with various degrees of available technology.

Primary Source Activities
These activities are short exercises developed by History in the Heartland and History WORKS teachers that can be easily integrated into existing lessons and provide teachers with the opportunity to illustrate history through the use of primary material. The activities promote historical inquiry and analysis, they are flexible so as to be helpful to a range of age and developmental groups, and can be used immediately by downloading or printing the material provided.
