
Explore History Webinars is a professional development program designed to support and improve the teaching of American history through a series of web-based seminars. The project combines the resources of Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, the Ohio Historical Society, and the Ohio State University.
The interactive sessions will follow a format something as follows:
You can participate at your home or school computer—all you need is high speed internet access, a recent version of Java, and your computers built-in microphone and speakers
The seminars will be held on the following dates and times and participants will in enroll in four of the five:
Participants will receive:
• Readings and primary source materials
• 3 hours graduate credit from the Ohio State University (for participating in four of five seminars, completing some short writing assignments, and developing primary source based lesson plans)
The topics of the seminars, derived from the Ohio Academic Content Standards for the 4th, 5th, and 8th grades are as follows (seminar topics and dates have yet to be synchronized):
